The Ohio River Valley is home to the Marshall County Schools Team
located in the northern panhandle of West Virginia. The river
provides a border between our state and Ohio. Our school district
includes 12 elementary schools, 4 junior high schools, and 2 high
schools. There are about 1,800 students. Moundsville is the county
seat of Marshall County, and is home to the Grave Creek Mound, the
town's namesake. The Mound is the largest Adena Indian Burial Mound
this side of the Mississippi River. Clark sketched the mound when on
his way to see relatives that lived on Captina Creek, located just
south of Moundsville. |
