Kennewick, Pasco, Richland, and West Richland are part of the
Tri-Cities region. The combined population (123,443) of these cities
makes it the fourth largest community in Washington State. The
cities are located at the confluence of the Snake, Columbia, and
Yakima Rivers. Pasco is upriver of the site where the Lewis &
Clark Expedition made camp in October 16 - 18, 1805, at the
confluence of the Snake and Columbia Rivers.
The Port of Pasco is on the left bank and Kennewick is on the
right as you look down river. Richland and West Richland are further
upriver. (This picture which includes the cable bridge and train
bridge was provided courtesy of the East Benton County Historical
Museum). |
