Corps of discovery Camps in Idaho

The governor of our State is preparing for the Bicentennial of the Lewis and Clark Expedition. He was recently quoted in the Boise Statesman. The Lewis and Clark Corps of Discovery was monumental to the founding of the Great State of Idaho. It is possible that without Thomas Jefferson's foresight to send Lewis and Clark to investigate this area, it could have been part of another country.

Several countries were in the process of preparing to explore and claim part of the discovery area. We are approaching the Bicentennial of this historic trip. We must begin to prepare for the multitude of adventure seekers who will visit our state. I am asking social science teachers throughout the state to create a web- based archive travelers can use to prepare for their excursion. Furthermore, many people will not be able to travel across the Lolo Trail because the Forest Service will be requiring individuals to have a governmental permit. Permits will not be issued to all who want to come to Idaho. It will be lottery based.

Therefore, we must create something that all individuals interact with in the 21st century. What could that be? Next
