Laptop Requirements (draft)

FOR ALL WHO ARE BRINGING LAPTOPS, please have the following software installed on your laptop before the workshop:

  • VRWorx -Photoshop Elements
  • Inspiration -Netscape Composer (available at http://www.netscape.com)
  • ArcView (if you USE or want to use ArcView)
  • a general productivity suite (like MS Office) will probably be useful

For those of you who have a laptop you are bringing the minimum requirements are listed below:

PC laptops:

  • Pentium II 266 Mhz processor
  • 64MB RAM
  • Available PC Card slot (will be used for a wireless network card)
  • Bring a wireless PC card with you if you have one

Mac Laptops:

  • (all iBooks are OK to bring)
  • 266Mhz PowerPC (any G3 or G4 processor would be preferable)
  • 128MB RAM preferable,
  • 64 MB would be manageable
  • Available PC Card slot (will be used for a wireless network card)

Please bring an LCD projector for your group.
