GIS Data CD-ROM set

The participants of the Lewis and Clark Rediscovery project have recieved training in using ESRI ArcView 3.2 geographic information systems (GIS) software through online courses and summer workshop sessions. To accompany this training, the Rediscovery project has compiled four CDs, to date, of GIS data for use in the training sessions and in the classroom application of GIS software in the K-12 classroom.

Disk 1: GIS data for 17 sites along the Lewis and Clark trail corresponding with the school districts participating in the project. CD compiled by Robbyn Abbitt, Kathryn Keranen, and the EOS Education project: University of Montana.

Disk 2: GIS data for the Paradise Creek and South Fork of the Palouse watersheds. Used in the Rediscovery summer workshop, 2000. CD compiled by Robbyn Abbitt
Disk 3: GIS data for the Portland, OR and Astoria, OR areas. Used in the Rediscovery summer workshop, 2001 in Portland and Astoria, OR. CD compiled by Kathryn Keranen.

Disk 4: GIS tools. Included ArcView extensions and other tools to be used with ESRI ArcView 3.2 software. CD compiled by Jason Abbitt and Kathryn Keranen

This CD set is not currently available for wide distribution, however, much of the data that was used was a modification of data available through the EPA Basins project and other publicly available sources of GIS data.
